GO Game
At Penn State University the ancient game of GO is being used “ to offer insight into military and cyber threats”. According to the article the game is being used ” to help students gain new insight and new methods for countering attacks and to hone new cognitive skills for the 21st century.” Stan Aungst, senior lecturer, teaches a course ” ‘Using Serious Games to Promote Strategic Thinking and Analysis,’ introduces students to thinking visually about attacks, attack patterns, spatial analysis with individual performance evaluation via interactive virtual scenarios/missions and gaming.” This is just another example of how board games can increase thinking skills.
